Vijay Eswaran the co-founder and Executive Chairman of the QI Group of Companies is a distinguished Malaysian businessman and entrepreneur.

The QI Group, co-founded by Eswaran is a multinational firm with main offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Philippines and Malaysia, and subsidiary companies in other 30 countries.

Under Eswran leadership, the QI Group has also opened a university in Malaysia known as Quest International University Perak (QIUP), to which Eswaran is the current Chairman of the University Council.

Born in 1960 in Penang, Malaysia, Eswaran studied at the London School of Economics, graduated with a degree in socio-economics in 1984. Later in 1986, he earned his MBA from Southern Illinois University.

In 1998, after a stellar career in blue chip firms in various countries, including IBM, Eswaran opted to branch out on his own. Teaming up with Joseph Bismark they founded a business, QI Group. It was a challenging effort as they had limited capital and connections, but they persevered.

However, over the next decade, they set up regional offices in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Singapore, and expanded QI Group’s presence to over 30 countries through a broad range of subsidiaries.

Vijay shares the knowledge he has acquired from his vast experience with others, henceforth he is a world renowned speaker; he lectures at top universities, business leadership and management forums like the World Economic Forum events.

Vijay Eswaran has also written four successful books, namely; In the Sphere of Silence (a book on life management that was translated into about seven other languages), In The Thinking Zone, 18 Stepping Stones, and On the Wings of Thought. He also has an input to newspaper columns in Malaysia.

This highly decorated executive has garnered numerous awards from industry observers and international organisations. An example is the CEO of the Year by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council at the Malaysian Business Awards 2013; the same year, Forbes Asia stated him as the 25th wealthiest person in Malaysia.
